📋 Overview
KTU has introduced Activity Points as part of the curriculum to encourage students to participate in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Students are required to earn a minimum number of activity points to be eligible for the degree.
The activities are categorized into three groups, and students must earn minimum points from each group to fulfill the requirement.

Note: For Lateral Entry students, the minimum per group is 30 points. For PwD students, the minimum per group is 20 points.
🧮 Calculation Rules
Highest Level Only
If multiple levels are claimed for the same activity, only the highest level counts
Winner Overrides Participation
Cannot claim both participation and winner points for the same event
Per Activity Cap
Each activity has a maximum points ceiling (maxPoints)
Per Group Cap
Maximum points counted per group is capped (40 for regular, 30 for lateral, 20 for PwD)
Group Minimum
Minimum points must be achieved in each group to pass
⚠️ Important Points to Remember
- •Activities must be completed during the course duration to be eligible for points.
- •Proper documentary evidence/certificates must be submitted as proof for claiming points.
- •Points will be verified by the Activity Point Cell of the college before being credited.
- •For level-based activities, only the highest level counts. You cannot claim both college and state level participation.
- •Winner points override participation points for the same event. You cannot claim both.
- •Each activity has a maximum points cap. Points earned beyond this cap will not be counted.
- •No activity points will be awarded for activities already credited in the academic curriculum.
✅ Eligibility Criteria for Degree
To be eligible for the B.Tech degree, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
- ✓Regular Students: Minimum 120 activity points total with at least 40 points from each group.
- ✓Lateral Entry Students: Minimum 90 activity points total with at least 30 points from each group.
- ✓PwD Students: Minimum 60 activity points total with at least 20 points from each group.
Note: Students who do not meet the activity points requirement will not be eligible to receive their degree even if they have completed all academic requirements.
🎓 Activity Credits
Upon successful completion of the activity points requirement, students will be awarded 3 Activity Credits (one credit for each group) in their final transcript.
- • Group I (Co-curricular) → 1 Credit
- • Group II (Professional Development) → 1 Credit
- • Group III (Advanced Achievements) → 1 Credit
These credits are mandatory but do not carry any grade points.
